As a state of the art printing facility, we can print just about anything, including large puzzles. Chef, a Seattle business specializing in providing innovative IT solutions, needed an oversized puzzle printed for an upcoming event.

They supplied us with the artwork. Our pre-press department scaled it to size, then overlaid the puzzle grid over the top. The grid lines are where the individual puzzle pieces will be cut out from the whole. As you can see, there are a lot of them.

The puzzle (when fully assembled) is 3’ X 4’ in size. It was printed on 48pt Tango C2S display stock using our Vutek large-format digital press. A laminate was applied to help protect the piece from unwanted scuff marks.

An intricate CAD cut was required to cut out each puzzle piece. Due to the size of the poster and the complexity of the cut lines, it took nearly twenty minutes for our Kongsberg CAD cutter to complete the cuts. Each puzzle piece varied in size, but they ended up being around 2” x 3”.

The entire puzzle consists of a total of one hundred twenty-one pieces.
